Susa Pop
Co-Founder and Managing Director, Public Art Lab, Berlin
Susa Pop is a co-founder and the managing director of Public Art Lab, industrial designer, EU culture manager and curator. Since 2003, she has worked with Public Art Lab in developing forms of communication and action that incorporate the public in the artistic process and give rise to long-lasting collaborations and networks. These projects are constantly moving at the interface of urban space, digital media, economy and the sciences. For example, at the Media Facades Festival Europe 2010, seven major European cities were connected for the first time via urban screens and media facades for activities including joint broadcasting events, which opened a window for viewing social and intercultural processes. Pop is continuing her involvement with urban media in 2011 as initator and head of the Innovationsforum Urban Screens, a project supported by Germany's Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Other Public Art Lab projects include: Mobile Museums (2004), Mobile Studios (2006), Mobicases (2007, 2009, 2011), Media Facades Festival (2008) and Round Table Ukraine (2011-2013).
