Dr.-Ing. Rudolf Eyberg

Director, PANASONIC, AVC Development Centre, Langen/Frankfurt

Dr.-Ing. Rudolf Eyberg was born in 1960. Since 2008, he has acted as director of the PANASONIC, AVC Development Centre in Langen/Frankfurt (www.pldc.eu), where he is responsible for software development and the testing of integrated TVs (VIErA) and DVD/Bluray recorders (DIGA) in Europe, the implementation of new DVB-T/S/C-based technologies and interactive services. Eyberg is an active member of a number of European industrial associations and standards committees. From 1981 to 1992, he studied and received his doctorate in communications at the University of Stuttgart. Starting in 1992, Eyberg acted as head of CATV/HFC technology in the field of development and distribution at ALCATEL in Stuttgart and Brussels. From 1999 to 2005, he acted as technical director of BOSCH broadband networks and was responsible for the HFC expansion of broadband cable networks with triple-play services. Starting in 2005, he acted as head of the field of optical disc storage (DVD, Blu-ray, Holography) at THOMSON Corporate Research. He is a member of the FKTG, IEEE, VDE and VDI.
