Wolf Bauer, CEO, UFA Film & TV Produktion GmbH and CEO, UFA Cinema GmbH

Wolf Bauer was born in Stuttgart in 1950. After studying journalism and art history, he began working in 1976 as a political features writer for the program "Kennzeichen D" on ZDF, one of Germany's two public television broadcasters. In 1980, Bauer began working as an editor and producer for UFA Film & TV Produktion, where he has been an executive producer and CEO since 1991. He has also sat on the operating board of the international production company FremantleMedia since it was founded in 2000.
Under his leadership, UFA has grown into a high-output production group with seven subsidiaries, which have continually expanded their leading market position in recent years in Germany as makers of film and television productions. As head of UFA, Bauer founded Grundy UFA in 1991 along with Reg Grundy, the Australian game-show and daily drama pioneer. Together with Mike Murphy, the two turned Grundy UFA into Europe's largest producer of daily dramas. In 1998, Bauer created teamWorx together with Prof. Nico Hofmann and Ariane Krampe. In early 2008, he founded UFA Cinema with Thomas Peter Friedl, Prof. Nico Hofmann and Dr. Jürgen Schuster, where he serves as CEO and executive producer.
